3 Things that a Galapagos Tortoise produces in its body 1. eggs for reproduction 2. producing water from body fat 3. laminae scales Respiration glucose + oxygen = energy + carbon dioxide + water glucose = organic oxygen = inorganic energy = ? carbon dioxide = inorganic water = inorganic <---When an enzyme helps the organism build something Regulation Eukaryote A galapagos tortoise is eukaryotic because it is an animal. The cells in the tortoise have a nucleus. And the cells also have a cell membrane and a cytoplasm. Factors that impact the Galapagos Tortoise's health 1. Temperature (abiotic) - to avoid a high rise in temperature these tortoises will rest in mud wallows or rain formed pools to cool down. 2. Parasites (biotic) - having a mutual relationships with birds, the tortoises will raise there necks and birds will come by and eat the parasites off. 3. Protein (abiotic) - tortoises mainly eat grasses and leaves of different types but to have protein in there systems they will crush a bird with their foot and eat the meat. 4. Humans (biotic) - natives on the Galapagos will hunt them finding them to be plenty of fat and meat, the tortoises will then hide into there hard and strong shells making it hard to get to the meat. |
